Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling in Castle Rock, WA

Castle Rock runs from old houses in town to places out on acreage, and those are two different remodels. In town you are working with small original rooms and whatever was done to them over eighty years. Outside town you are often on a well and a septic system, and that changes what a bathroom remodel is allowed to become.

The older houses in town have small kitchens built as closed rooms, and the usual ask is to open one up. Whether that wall is carrying load gets determined before demo, not during. If it is bearing, a header and posts take the load and the wall still comes out. It just costs what it costs, and you should hear that before the work starts rather than in the middle of it.

On a septic system, adding a bathroom is not only a plumbing question. Systems are permitted for a certain number of bedrooms and a certain load, and adding fixtures can put you past what the drain field was designed for. That gets checked before anything is promised. A remodel that reworks an existing bathroom is a very different conversation than one that adds a new one, and it is worth knowing which you are having on day one.

On a well, water hardness and pressure decide what fixtures actually work well once they are in. Iron and mineral content will stain new finishes over time and mark up tile and glass in a way that looks like bad workmanship and is not. If that is your water, it is worth handling as part of the project instead of discovering it after.

Under the finishes it is the same job everywhere. Soft subfloor near a toilet or tub gets cut out and replaced before tile goes down, and a bath fan gets ducted outside. Electrical and plumbing go to licensed trades. The carpentry, the tile and the running of the job are mine, and I am on the job every day, which matters most out here where the next trade is not ten minutes away.

Kitchen & Bath Remodeling questions in Castle Rock

Can I add a bathroom to a house on septic in Castle Rock?

Sometimes. A septic system is permitted for a certain number of bedrooms and load, and adding fixtures can push past what the drain field was designed for. That gets checked before anything is promised. Reworking an existing bathroom is a different conversation than adding one.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Castle Rock, WA?

Depends on whether the wall you want gone is bearing, what the plumbing and wiring behind the walls look like, and the cabinets and counters you pick. Send photos and dimensions and tell me if you are on a well or septic, and I will give you a layout and a written number.

Will hard well water damage new fixtures and tile?

It can. Iron and mineral content stain new fixtures and mark up tile and glass in a way that looks like bad workmanship. If that is your water, treating it is worth handling as part of the project.

Do you convert tubs to walk-in showers?

Yes. Drain moves, floor slopes, waterproofing goes in as a system. Done right it is good for decades.

Do you remodel bathrooms in Toutle and Silver Lake?

Yes. Castle Rock, Toutle, Silver Lake and the rural properties north of Longview are regular service area, and being on the job every day matters more out here where the next trade is not ten minutes away.
