Larry Wells Project

Repair in Cathlamet, WA

When a window begins to show its age, it can affect both the comfort and protection of a home. This repair project brings in a skilled contractor to replace an existing aluminum slider window, addressing not just the unit itself but the surrounding structure to ensure everything is solid, weathertight, and built to last.

Scope of Work

The window replacement project begins with the careful removal of the existing aluminum slider unit, including the exterior trim. We will then perform a systematic demolition of the T1-11 siding surrounding the rough opening to facilitate an inspection of the structural integrity of the wall cavity. Any compromised sheathing or framing will be addressed and repaired with new, pressure-treated or exterior-grade lumber to ensure a solid substrate for the new installation.

Once the rough opening is properly framed and verified for square, we will install a high-performance sill pan and flashing tape to provide a weather-tight barrier against water intrusion. A new vinyl slider window, matched to the specific dimensions of the opening, will then be installed and shimmed for plumb and level, followed by the integration of the exterior trim and T1-11 siding patches.

The project concludes with the meticulous sealing of all joints and seams using high-grade exterior caulk to prevent future moisture issues. The work area will be cleaned of all debris and left in a professional state, ready for final finish painting by the owner if required.

The team is committed to leaving the work area clean and the installation done right, giving the homeowner a reliable, well-sealed window they can count on for years to come.
